Non-political Rant

Manchester is crawling with political people. Hazel Blears grinning like a Cheshire cat and running around like one too. Well someone has to keep everybody in check! No doubt she will be featured again in the local free newspaper just like every other week. I like to ask her who is paying for the free booze and the food on offer in the evening but I doubt our path will ever cross.

Have you heard Gordon’s speech? Are you convinced he has got what it takes to be a new PM? Can he take on David Cameron like he says? Do you care? I don’t. Nothing is going to change one way or the other, is it?

Comments:
Do any of them have what it takes to be the new PM? Or rather, will any of them have the backbone to say "No, we'll not fight in your wars" to Bush....

And whilst I don't have anything against Scottish people personally, how come all the politicians vying for PMship are Scots (although only Reid has a Scottish accent)? They have their own Parliament, don't they??

Weenie took the words right out of my mouth. We need a PM who won't just pander to America's demands. I've never liked Tony Blair, although his smile seemed to win the hearts of grannies across the UK and beyond. Puzzling.

it has got be something in the water they drink that makes their heads nodd at the American tunes. Even Mrs.T (surely you haven't forgotten her) was a bossom buddy to Mr. Reagan!

Agree, Mrs T was indeed chummy to Mr Reagan but I can't ever recall her manner being as sycophantic as Blair's is to Bush. Mr's T's downfall was the disastrous poll tax, but she's also remembered for the country's victory in the Falklands war.
