Really wanted to see this live debate on the Government's foreign policy to deal with the problems of poverty but as usual a long phone call at the wrong time! I could not be assertive enough to say "leave me alone". The last bit I saw was the result of the telephone poll with 99% majority saying more should be done. Good on you British public.
A problem with foreign aid is to find a happy medium where a careful eye is kept on to ensure the aid reaches the ultimate needy but not to interfere too much in the other country's policies so that it doesn't seem like they are being taken over!
