Old Shopping expedition
Had a very busy day and on the way back to home I had to make a quick stop at the Safeway to buy some fruits. My mind was overcrowded with things to do and knew I needed to rush. I was passing the fruit counter at a great speed scanning the commodities as I walked. There was no one behind me. I was checking some melons out and thought I had just passed the Satsumas (I have to have Satsuma or mandarin every night while I am on my PC) so I just back paddled without turning or looking. Well a man must have sneaked in behind me. I only knew when I went straight on his toes and bumped into him with my back with my trolley pulled towards me really fast. Luckily he was a big man so he managed to bounce forward and both of us stayed upright. Judging at his bright red face I think a couple of his toes were dislocated ! Mind you he said he wasn't in pain at all and had enjoyed himself if I was planning something like this again. Don't think the woman with him was very happy....
In the rush I filled the bags up at the check out but must have forgotten one bag there so the man in the queue after me picked it up and run out to the car park with it to give my shopping to me. Wasn't that really nice of him?
The young lady parked next to me had a baby in the trolley. She was putting the baby in the car so me with my helpful nature offered to take her trolley back with mine so that the baby is not left on its own in the car. Both trolleys were different, of course hers being the one with the baby thing so I had to have them in each hand rather than sliding them into each other. As I am trying to juggle my handbag around my neck (as I still have that painful frozen shoulder) one trolley just did its own thing and started rolling in the opposite direction and the one in the left hand rolling behind my bottom. Well three or four people waiting for the taxi started running about to escape my trolleys !
Eventually the trolley collector ran to me and rescued them.
I returned to the car safely and NO, I haven't been banned from Safeway..........yet.
